It’s a lock-up death: CPI(M)
Staff Reporter
VISAKHAPATNAM: The CPI (M) has demanded a judicial inquiry and a re-postmortem on the body of tribal Bhaskara Rao who reportedly died in police custody at Narsipatnam on Sunday.
A fact-finding team of CPI(M) went to Bacchat village of Moolapeta panchayat of Koyyuru mandal to gather details. Addressing a media conference at Narsipatnam later in the afternoon, CPI(M) district committee secretary Ch. Narasinga Rao said that a land dispute had led to the murder of Bhaskara Rao. An examination of the body revealed that there was two-inch deep injury on his stomach and left side. He alleged that Bhaskara Rao had died due to the torture by the accused Murali and the police.
