BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa Private Engineering Colleges Association (OPECA) here on Monday threatened that it might go public declaring its “inability to take students from this session” if State Government failed to take a final decision on different contentious issues by Tuesday. “The deadline set by us comes to end on Tuesday. The counselling for admission into engineering colleges is beginning from July 18. We cannot wait till the last moment as there is a need to inform public beforehand,” OPECA Secretary Binod Das said here. Private engineering colleges had demanded autonomy over filling up seats, which were lying vacant subsequent to counselling by Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) committee.
