Relief to poorer sections from the spiralling prices Oil to be supplied at Rs.45 a litre to white card holders Mahabubnagar: Launching the subsidised red gram distribution scheme for white ration card holders at Kalwakurthy on Monday, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy said that his government would come to the rescue of farmers in the State in case there are adverse seasonal conditions during this kharif season. He appealed the farming community not get distressed due to scanty rainfall. “God will bless us with good rain this year too,” he said. The Chief Minister said that to extend relief to the poorer sections from the spiralling prices, his government has decided to supply subsidised red gram and oil. He also announced that in a week or ten days oil would be supplied at Rs.45 a litre to white card holders through fair price shops. Launching a scathing attack on TDP leader N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister said that he is expressive views contrary to the assertions in his book Manusolo Mata. Chief Minister said that people will not believe in the false promises of the TDP chief as during his nine-year rule he did nothing to them. “What prevented him in implementing all the schemes that he is promising to people in Meekosam Yatra,” Dr. Reddy questioned. Lift IrrigationHe assured that his Government would take up fourth phase of Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation (KLI) immediately after the award of Brajesh Kumar tribunal on Krishna water disputes. Kalwakurthy legislator Yedma Kishta Reddy also spoke.
