BSP district, taluk units revamped

Party will contest BBMP polls: Muniyappa
BANGALORE: The Bahujan Samaj Party, which fared badly in the recent Assembly elections, has re-organised the State unit.
State unit president Marasandra Muniyappa told presspersons here on Monday that the changes had been made after an analysis of the party’s performance at the hustings.
Office-bearers of 30 units in the State, including district and some taluk units, have been changed.
No changes have been made in the State committee. Booth committees have also been reconstituted.
Mr. Muniyappa said the BSP would field candidates in the elections to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Council, while a decision with regard to the Lok Sabha polls would be taken by party president Mayawati.
To a question on the ouster of P.G.R. Sindhia from the party, Mr. Muniyappa said: “Mr. Sindhia had failed in properly maintaining relations with party leaders and workers.”
“His ways of handling were also not to the liking of the party leadership,” Mr. Muniyappa added.
