‘Objectionable picture: law will take its own course’

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K. Jana Reddy has said that the law would take its own course in the incidents relating to the publication of an objectionable picture of Jesus Christ in a Telugu daily.

Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the passing out parade at AP Police Academy here on Monday, Mr. Reddy said the Government would act according to law in various incidents that were a result of members of Christian community resorting to violence in the wake of publication of the picture.

In reply to another question, Mr. Reddy said the Government had not yet instituted an inquiry into circumstances leading to the killing of Greyhounds personnel by Maoists at Chitrakonda in Orissa.

The Government would base its action against the guilty on the outcome of the inquiry.
