Distribution of red gram launched

HYDERABAD: Designated Photo Lamination (DPL) centres would be established at all Assistant Supply Offices in the city from August 1 to facilitate people to obtain new ration cards, said Energy and Minorities Welfare Minister Mohd. Ali Shabbir.
He launched the distribution of red gram at subsidised rate of Rs. 30 per kilogram for white card holders through fair price shops at Phoolbagh here on Monday. Addressing the gathering, the Minister said since 2004 the Congress government distributed over four lakh white ration cards in the city and was committed to the welfare of weaker sections.
All the 6.5 lakh white card holders in the city would be supplied with one kilogram of red gram at Rs. 30 every month through the fair price shops.
Over 6,500 quintals of red gram have been exclusively allotted for the city for distribution to white card holders every month and edible oil would be supplied at Rs. 45 per kilogram for white card holders through fair price shops soon.
Backward Classes Welfare Minister M. Mukesh Goud said health cards would be given to families below the poverty line under the Rajiv Arogyasree scheme from Saturday in the district.
Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav and Musheerabad Legislator T. Manemma were also present on the occasion.
