Haj pilgrims given polio drops

Kanpur: At least 700 devotees from Kanpur, Kannauj and Farrukhabad districts, on their way to Mecca for the Haj pilgrimage, were administered polio drops at a special camp held here on Monday.

District Magistrate Anil Sagar inaugurated the camp by administering polio drops to an elderly woman. “Saudi Arabia has asked the Indian government to issue visas only to those people whose forms are certified by the health department after being given polio drops,” said Naimuddin Siddiqui of the Khuddam Haj Committee.
