Murder accused bludgeoned to death CRIME NOTES

BANGALORE: A 27-year-old man, facing charges of dacoity and murder, was allegedly murdered by his friend in Bagalur on Saturday. His body was found in Kadigenahalli near Madhugiri on Sunday.

According to the police, the victim Venkatesh had a quarrel with his friend Anjanappa in a bar over latter’s relationship with his wife. Later, Anjanappa allegedly bludgeoned Venkatesh and threw the body in a bush in Kadigenahalli. His wife has reportedly admitted to asking Anjanappa to murder Venkatesh as he regularly beat her up.

Killed

A 30-year-old labourer was killed after he fell off a load of coconuts on a tractor in Manchanabele on Magadi Main Road on Sunday night.

Suicide

A 23-year-old woman hanged herself in her house in Goudanapalya on Sunday night. The police said Soumya Shree committed suicide when there were none in the house. Soumya Shree’s father has accused his son-in-law Nanjudaswamy of harassing her daughter.

The Subramanyapura police have registered a case of dowry death.

Arrested

The Cubbon Park police and the city’s Anti-Terrorist Squad arrested M. Ramesh, owner of the Mahadeshwara Transport Company in Chamarajapet, which is accused of illegally transporting spirit.

Hoax call

Panic gripped the Women’s Peace League School in Shankarapura Road following a phone call that some explosives have been planted on its premises. A teacher who got the call alerted the police, who came there with the Bomb Detection Squad.

A thorough search turned up nothing.
