Two ‘conmen’ held

HYDERABAD: Two brothers, Y. Suresh Kumar, 35, and Y. Uma Maheswar Rao, 33, were arrested by the police on Monday for allegedly duping 10 banks to the tune of Rs. 80 lakh using credit cards they had secured by presenting fake documents.
Twelve credit cards, 39 debit cards, PAN cards, fake vehicle RC books, a car and a bike, a computer and a Sony LCD TV, were seized from them, Commissioner’s Task Force DCP V.B. Kamalasan Reddy told a press conference on Monday.
The siblings, residents of Nacharam, used to float fictitious firms and open bank accounts using fake employee names.
By generating fake salary slips and other certificates, the brothers used to secure PAN cards and credit cards and use the same to secure personal loans, house loans, the DCP said.
