Congress, TDP criticised
HYDERABAD: Lok Satta Party president Jayaprakash Narayan has accused the Congress and the TDP of ‘robbing the future of children’ by squandering precious resources on ‘temporary sops which pay electoral dividends’.
Commenting on TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s promise of free rice supply if voted to power, he said on Monday that there was always a case for supporting the weak and disadvantaged in society. But the support should enable them to stand on their own feet by enhancing their capabilities and making them partners in wealth creation.
The number of people covered by the rice scheme has exceeded the State population, indicating that intermediaries siphoned off the benefits meant for poor.
