Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Fifth Metropolitan Magistrate on Monday remanded Padma, one of the accused in the Gold Quest scam, to police custody for five days.

The CB-CID police said they had asked for 10 days. Padma was one of the main agents of the Gold Quest network and had earned nearly Rs. 22 crore in commission from the company, the police said.

Initially the city police registered a case, but was later transferred to the CB-CID as the company had more than three lakh customers across the country.
