BJP: none of our allies will support government
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The former BJP president, M. Venkaiah Naidu, on Monday asserted that none of his party’s allies would support the United Progressive Alliance government during the trust vote in the Lok Sabha.
At a press conference here, the BJP leader said even the supporting parties like the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha were yet to firm up their decision.
Mr. Naidu accused the UPA government of bringing the India-U.S. civilian nuclear deal to the fore to cover up its failures and divert people’s attention.
With elections round the corner in the U.S. and India, there was no urgency to push the deal without a comprehensive debate and taking the Left parties into confidence.
