Lakshman scalps five
VISAKHAPATNAM: Left-arm spinner Y. Lakshman Kishore’s five-wicket haul saw Visakhapatnam gain first innings-lead over East Godavari in the drawn round-robin match of the ACA North Zone seniors’ inter-district tournament here on Monday.
Lakshman Kishore and N.J.S.R. Prasad with three wickets restricted East Godavari to 124 in reply to Visakhapatnam’s total of 275.
No play was possible due to rain on the second and final day of the match between Srikakulam and Vizianagaram. Srikakulam was 86 for four at close on first day in reply to Vizianagaram’s total of 167.
The scores:
Visakhapatnam 275 and 49 for no loss in 17 overs drew with East Godavari 124 in 56.3 overs (Y. Lakshman Kishore five for 28).
Vizianagaram 167 in 50.3 overs (M. Arjun 47, D. Papa Rao four for 24) vs. Srikakkulam 86 for four in 41 overs.
