KOLLAM: A mini lorry transporting live chicken to the market fell into the T.S. Canal at Paravur on Tuesday. There were four passengers in the lorry, but none were seriously injured. But many birds got drowned. The escaped birds were picked up by local people for the day’s meal. The bridge across the canal has no side railings. The van got completely submerged in the water. It was retrieved with the help of a crane. The Paravur police have registered a case. Staff Reporter
