Engineering, pharmacy counselling from today

HYDERABAD: Report on time and with a firm decision on the course to be taken, this is what officials advise students who will attend the first phase of counselling for engineering and pharmacy courses beginning Wednesday at eight centres in the State.

Counselling will be held in two centres in Hyderabad and one each in Vijayawada, Vishakapatnam, Guntur, Tirupati, Warangal and Kadapa simultaneously and students have the option of attending at any of the centres when their ranks are called out. Officials are still struggling for the final figures, but as of now, more than 400 engineering colleges will figure in the Convener’s admissions.

APSCHE Chairman K.C. Reddy said 142 engineering colleges and 34 pharmacy colleges have sought to be included under the fee waiver scheme.

Counselling Camp Officer K. Raghunath said students need to bring their SSC and Intermediate memoranda of marks, study certificate from Class VI to Intermediate, caste certificate issued by MRO or RDO, whichever is applicable and the income certificate.

Non-locals

For non-local candidates, a document certifying 10 years of residence in the State has to be obtained.

Candidates from BC, SC, ST and physically-challenged sections have been exempted from paying the fee but their parental income need to be less than Rs. 1 lakh per year.

They need to submit income certificate to claim fee waiver.
