Mr. Humayun Kabir, Minister for Scientific Research and Culture, addressing a press conference in New Delhi on July 14, said that one of the finest achievements of our National laboratories was the discovery of the process of manufacturing optical glass. In the pilot plant set up at Calcutta, they would be able to manufacture the country’s requirements of optical glass and thereby save some valuable foreign exchange. He paid a tribute in this connection to the initiative and hard work of our scientists.
