Letters to the Editor
The interview of L.K. Advani by N. Ram (July 11 & 12) was a classic piece of journalism. It was a meeting of two journalists — present and past — that bore a touch of The Hindu of yesteryear. Mr. Advani’s stand on varied issues is truly reflective of the present state of political scenario. A man of his integrity and commitment is what we need in Indian politics. J.R. Kamath, Coonoor The questions posed by Mr. Ram were concise, clear and, most important, relevant to the political scene. Mr. Advani was forthright in his views and took a firm stand on whatever he believed, which is characteristic of a good parliamentarian. The Jinnah episode, after which Mr. Advani faced criticism from his own party, bears testimony to the BJP leader’s courage and conviction.Kannan Sekar, Chennai
