Corrections and clarifications

Sentences in report “Pending works [at the Mass Rapid Transit System stations] to get over by March” (Chennai city, July 11, 2008, page 3) were “‘Crows are building their nests on top of overhead electrical cables. It can lead to tripping of wires and disrupt services, he said … As a result, the overhead electrification (OHE) staff are also doubling up as crow chasers, he said.’” The Southern Railway clarifies that the expansion of OHE is overhead equipment.

The first paragraph in a report “Playing for India is motivation: Kumble” (“Sport”, July 11, 2008) was “Anil Kumble last bowled in a Test in Sri Lanka nine years ago. The last series he figured in was 11 seasons ago when India won 1-0 ….” The two-Test series in 1997 was drawn 0-0 and not won 1-0 (by India).
