Haryana gets five new road projects

Four new by-passes also proposed

CHANDIGARH: Five big road projects would be implemented in Haryana at a cost of Rs.2,629 crore and their foundation stones would be laid by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, said Deepender Singh Hooda, MP, on Tuesday after meeting Dr. Singh in New Delhi.

Giving details of the projects, Mr. Hooda said the Delhi-Rohtak National Highway No.10 would be six-laned at a cost of Rs.486 crore, the Badarpur elevated highway would be six-laned at a cost of Rs.340 crore, the Rohtak-Hisar State Highway would be four-laned at a cost of Rs.543 crore, the Rohtak-Panipat National Highway No.71-A would be four-laned at a cost of Rs.620 crore, and the Rohtak-Jhajjar-Rewari-Bawal National Highway No.71 would be four-laned at a cost of Rs.640 crore.

He said it was also proposed to construct four new by-passes in Meham, Madina, Kharkara and Hansi.

The Member of Parliament from Rohatak thanked Dr. Singh for sanctioning a Central University and an Indian Institute of Management for Haryana.
