Class of 1983 of the Madras Christian College plans reunion

BANGALORE: The Madras Christian College (M.C.C.) Class of 1983 is scheduled to celebrate the silver jubilee of its graduation on August 13 and August 14, 2008, in Chennai.

Using the theme “Celebrating 25 years of Nostalgia and Fellowship” the reunion is a two-day, three-tier event that includes an informal get-together on August 13 and an alumni meet on the college campus on August 14, followed by a formal dinner with the past and present principals and staff members.

M.C.C.’s ’83 batch students comprise professionals, businessmen, corporate honchos, government employees, defence personnel and police officers among others.

Spread across the world, several alumni have confirmed their attendance at the reunion. Those who wish to participate can register right away.

The Madras Christian College, established in 1837, has a distinguished history since its inception.

The college was initially situated on a small campus in George Town and a part of the old building can still be seen at Linghi Chetty Street. The college was subsequently shifted to the current campus in Tambaram over a 100-acre verdant spread that is in itself a botanical and zoological paradise.
