New revenue divisions planned

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government is actively considering a proposal to create new revenue divisions for efficient administration, Revenue Minister K. P. Rajendran told the Assembly on Wednesday.
Responding to a calling attention motion from C. P. Mohammed (Congress), the Minister said that new revenue divisions were considered necessary in various districts including Thiruvananthapuram in order to tone the administrative mechanism. Mr. Rajendran, however, said that formation of new taluks would have to wait as the measure would involve heavy expenditure.
