Bangalore: Office-bearers of the Karnataka State Tigalara (Vahnikula Kshatriyara) Sangha, led by its secretary, K. Lakshmana, met Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and presented a memorandum urging him to include the Tigala caste in Category 1 of the Karnataka State Backward Classes list. In a press release, he said that Tigalas, with a population of about 40 lakh in the State, were clubbed with over 100 castes and included in Category 2A. They were left with no representation in government jobs and hence remained backward.
