Palmolein oil supply through fair price shops soon
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: Almost a week after the launch of supply of red gram at subsidised prices, the State government has initiated steps to commence supply of palmolein oil shortly.
Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has asked the Civil Supplies Department officials to keep adequate stocks in fair price shops for supply at a subsidised price of Rs. 45 a litre, against the market price in excess of Rs. 60.
The government had contemplated supply of red gram and palmoil simultaneously.
Stocks positioned
However, supply of palmolein oil could not commence for want of adequate stocks of the commodity.
Hyderabad Chief Rationing Officer Lokesh Kumar said stocks had been positioned at all the fair price shops and supply would commence once orders were received officially.
