Telugu edition of field guide on birds released

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Bombay Natural History Society has published the regional language editions of the ‘Birds of Southern India’ in Marathi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

The book covers about 600 species of birds from Central and South India, including Andhra Pradesh. It has 87 colour plates with high quality illustrations.

The Birdwatchers’ Society of Andhra Pradesh said in a press release here on Wednesday that the Telugu edition of the field guide, ‘Dakshina Bharata Pakshulu’, authored by Richard Grimmet, Tim Inskip and the Society will help equip the amateur bird watchers and frontline staff of the Forest Department with a good quality publication in regional language.
