A phone fixed in the car secretly calls the owner when a burglar breaks in
Innovator:M. Rajalingam with his creation. KARIMNAGAR: An electrician from a rural area has designed a novel burglar alarm system for four-wheelers and motorcycles using cellular phones and other devices. Sounds strange! In spite of having several burglar alarm systems, cars continue to be stolen. This alarm system helps trace the thief immediately and also helps locate the car. When a burglar opens the door of a car, it would not raise any kind of alarm. Instead, a cellular phone, fixed secretly in the vehicle, will call the car’s owner and alert him or her about the stranger entering the car. On receiving the call, the car owner simply has to make a missed call to the phone fixed in the car. This will force the car to stop immediately causing the thief to panic. While the thief would be busy trying to restart the car, the owner can come and catch him in the act. Meet M. Rajalingam (29), a resident of Venkatraopalli village of Huzurabad mandal and a local electrician in the village, who has designed this new system after spending more than two months on it. He has to his credit the invention of an agricultural motor and a home burglar alarm system, again using cellular phones. Rajalingam said that he used a cellular phone, a circuit board and a small starter, spending Rs. 500 to design the new system. The cellular phone that is secretly fixed in the car and that is always in silent mode is connected with the owner’s phone using a circuit board and cables. He said that the thief will not be able to drive the vehicle for a distance as all it takes is for the owner to call back on the number and the phone will completely disconnect power supply to the vehicle with the result that it will not move an inch. He said he designed this system out of passion to prove his creativity.
