Nedumbassery: The immigration officials at the Cochin International Airport on Wednesday detained a passenger who had arrived from Saudi Arabia, for allegedly committing passport forgery. The passenger, identified as Mohammed (55) from Koduvalli, Kozhikode, arrived here in the morning and during the immigration clearance procedure, he was found travelling on another passport in the name of one Muhammad Iqbal of Vengara, by replacing the original photograph with his own. On grilling, Muhammad allegedly confessed to obtaining a new passport from an agent as he had lost his passport. The officials said he had gone to Saudi Arabia from Kozhikode on a driver visa three years ago. He was later handed over to the local police and a case has been registered against him under the Passport Act.
