ANNIVERSARY: Agarwal Uttam Prakash, vice-president, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, inaugurating a conference in Kochi on Wednesday. — KOCHI: P.C. Cyriac, chairman of the Cochin Stock Exchange Limited, has mooted the setting up of a special purpose vehicle to collect funds for infrastructure projects in Kerala. A company promoting the investment could be operated through the stock exchange in a transparent manner, he said. Mr. Cyriac was speaking at a programme on “empowerment for investor education and protection”, organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, in association with Bombay Stock Exchange Limited and Cochin Stock Exchange Limited, here on Wednesday. Inaugurating the programme, M.G.A. Ramen, chairman and managing director of Kerala Books and Publications Society, said the Kerala society needed a change in thinking in respect of investment. Agarwal Uttam Prakash, vice-president, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Charanjot Singh Nanda, chairman, Financial Markets and Investors Protection, ICAI, V.C. James, Central Council member, ICAI, Sanjay Saksena, senior general manager, Bombay Stock Exchange Limited, P.G. Sajeev, chairman, Ernakulam branch of ICAI, and others spoke. The programme was part of the diamond jubilee celebrations of the ICAI.
