Computer glitch delays Aavin milk supply
Staff Reporter
MADURAI: Aavin milk supply to several parts of the city was delayed by more than a couple of hours on Wednesday morning owing to a virus attack on its computer system.
According to K. Thangarajan, General Manager (in-charge) of Madurai Aavin, the computer system at the five zonal offices failed leading to delay in acquiring the next day’s supply list.
“The computers were attended to and are back online. Milk supply will be on time,” he said.
S. Karthikeyan, Marketing and Milk Production Manager, said that usually the next day’s demand was collected from the zonal offices by 9.30 p.m.
However, on Tuesday night, owing to the system failure, orders had to be collected manually. It was almost 1 a.m. when the Wednesday’s supply list was collected forcing a delay, he said.
