Staff Reporter
DINDIGUL: Change in mindset of people in all communities is essential to bring a social change and to create a casteless society. People must sink differences among people for overall development, according to Pradeep V Philip, Inspector General of Police, (Social Justice-Human Rights) and Director of Friends of Police.
He was addressing a social justice tea party at Perumalkovilpatti in Seelapadi panchayat here on Wednesday.
The main objective of social justice tea parties was only to encourage people to shun untouchability.
“Education is essential for development of man and the economic development for social transformation.”
Earlier, talking to press persons after inaugurating an office for FoP on Dindigul north police station campus, the IG said three lakh friends of police had been assisting police in detecting crime. Some police stations had been covering three beats only with the help of FoPs, he added.
