Interest-free loan scheme to be inaugurated by VS

ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate the State government’s interest-free loan for paddy cultivation scheme at Nedumudi here on July 26.
Agriculture Minister Mullakara Ratnakaran will preside over the function at 10 a.m. while the Coir and Cooperation Minister G. Sudhakaran will distribute the loans.
A meeting of the organizing committee for the function also decided to give the loans to the maximum number of farmers during the inaugural function itself.
A special executive committee was also set up to identify farmers and to ensure smooth progress of the function.
Interest-free loans for paddy cultivation were introduced in the country by the Left Democratic Front in Kerala last year.
