CPWD zone likely
Staff Reporter
KOCHI: The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) is likely to establish a zone for Kerala considering the increasing number of work that is being undertaken in the State.
The new zone is being considered to be established next financial year, said H. S. Dogra, Director General (Works), CPWD, on Thursday. He was addressing a press conference here.
The establishment of the Zone will also ensure that the allocation of funds for Kerala will go up to Rs. 200 crore in the next financial year from the around Rs. 150 crore now.
He said that several works undertaken by CPWD are now under way in Kerala. The latest work is likely to be the Indian Institute of Management buildings in Kozhikode. The IIM-Kozhikode authorities approached CPWD recently to take up the buildings.
