KOLAR: Communist Party of India (Marxist) State committee member Gandhinagar Narayanswamy and Kolar district unit secretary G. Arjunan have demanded the resignation of Housing and Muzrai Minister S.N. Krishnaiah Shetty and Social Welfare Minister D. Sudhakar, for their alleged involvement in fraud cases. In a joint press statement, the CPI (M) leaders said that these Ministers should have resigned owing moral responsibility following reported submission of charge sheets by Central Bureau of Investigation to the CBI special court, in connection with cheating of public sector banks by real estate agencies which have connections with Mr. Shetty and Mr. Sudhakar. WarnedFearing misuse of power if they continued in office, the leaders urged Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa to sack them from the Cabinet if the “tainted” Ministers do not quit on their own. WorriedMr. Shetty, who is also the district in-charge Minister, has allegedly collected money from BEML employees assuring sites and houses for them. After reports about filing charge sheet against the former appeared in the media, the employees are worried about the fate of their money, the CPI (M) release stated.
