Student council of Navy School sworn in School Notes



LEARNING TO LEAD: Swearing-in ceremony of the Navy Children School’s student council at the Naval Base on Wednesday.

A 34-member student council of Navy Children School, Kochi, was sworn in at an investiture ceremony held at Sagarika, Naval Base on Wednesday.

Vijesh Kumar Garg, Commanding Officer, INS Garuda, installed the leaders. Abhinand Pradeep was selected the school head boy and Shashmira Suresh the head girl.

Joy Xavier, vice-principal of the school, administered the oath to the newly-elected office-bearers.

Scholarship scheme

The Rotary Club of Cochin Lords will organise a scholarship scheme for school students in the State. Scholarships will be offered in mathematics, information technology and science subjects. The students from LKG to Class 12 can participate in the programme. The screening examinations will be held during the third week of August.

For the students of LKG and Classes 1 to 4, tests will be conducted in general knowledge.

Children’s convention

Anjana Elias, a Class 6 student of the Thodupuzha Village International School, has been selected for participating in the Asia Pacific Children’s Convention which began in Japan. The convention, which is organised under the auspices of Junior Chamber International, will conclude on July 24, according to a communication issued by the Chamber authorities.

Homage paid

The IGM Public School, Elamakkara, remained closed on July 14 as a mark of respect to Joseph Manikketh, a student of the school, who was killed in an accident, said Rani George, vice-principal of the school.
