NEW DELHI: Sheffield Hallam University of the United Kingdom opened its India Office here on Thursday. The University inaugurated the office by awarding a full scholarship to a Mumbai-based journalist to pursue his M.A. in International Broadcast Journalism. The University has already been working in collaboration with some institutions in India like Manipal University and Christ College, Bangalore. “We are proud of our robust institutional collaborations in India and together we will continue to work towards developing mutually beneficial partnerships. We are also keen to develop faculty and student exchange programmes,” Vice-Chancellor Philip Jones told reporters on Thursday. The newly-opened office would look after the Indian students going to Sheffield Hallam University for higher studies. “The new office will work closely with our partners in India and find areas of mutual interest. We will facilitate academicians from the University touring India. They will deliver talks and lectures for knowledge sharing. We will also help our students in finding job opportunities,” said Kalpana Das, India coordinator of the University.
