Advani to hold rally in Hyderabad next month

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: BJP leader L.K. Advani will address a party-sponsored rally here next month to coincide with the culmination of ‘Sankalp yatras’ from four different centres of the State.

The ‘Sankalp yatras’ will commence from two centres in Telangana and one each in the coastal districts and Rayalaseema to educate the masses on the suicides by farmers, extremism and vote bank politics under Congress rule, the BJP State president Bandaru Dattatreya told a press conference here on Thursday.

To cover whole State

He said the yatras would last 15 to 20 days and cover the entire State.

The public meeting to be addressed by Mr. Advani when the processions converge here would be held under the banner of ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’.

Referring to the telephone call to him by Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao seeking the support of the BJP for the TRS-sponsored bandh on Saturday, Mr. Dattatreya said no decision had been taken yet. Mr. Rao sought the support of the BJP for the success of the bandh as part of mounting pressure on the UPA Government to concede separate Telangana ahead of the confidence vote.

He expected the BJP to emerge as a key player when the voting takes place.
