Yeddyurappa visits Tirumala

TIRUMALA: Karnataka Chief Minister Yeddyurappa, accompanied by four of his Cabinet colleagues, arrived at Tirumala on Thursday for the first time after assuming office.
He was accorded a warm welcome at Tirupati airport by the State and the district BJP and BJYM leaders.
Among those in his entourage were Karnataka Ministers—Sobha Devi (Rural Development), Krishnaiah Shetty (Endowments), Katta Subramanyam Naidu (Excise and Information) and Ramachandra Gowda (Medical Education). He was received at the airport by A.P. State BJP vice-president C. Narasimha Reddy and State BJYM president G. Bhanuprakash Reddy.
Mr. Yeddyurappa later motored up the Tirumala ghat road and reached the temple of Lord Venkateswara for an overnight stay and darshan in the hill temple. Accompanied by his Cabinet colleagues, the Karnataka Chief Minister will have darshan of the Lord twice—once tonight and again in the wee hours of Friday. He will participate in the pre-dawn weekly ‘Abhishekam’ of the Lord and later leave for Bangalore.Earlier, he was received by TTD Special Officer A.V. Dharmana Reddy at the Padmavathi Guest House.
