National award for teacher from Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: P.V. Saidalavi, teacher at AMLP School, Cherunnur near Velimukku, has won the national award for teachers 2007.

Popular by his penname P.V.S. Padikkal, Saidalavi has published several anthologies of poems for children.

The award comprising Rs.25,000, a silver medal and certificate will be given away by President Pratibha Pattil at a function to be held in New Delhi on Teacher’s Day on September 5.
