KADAPA: Telugu Desam Party functionaries cleansed NTR statue with milk by performing ‘palabhishekam’ and burst crackers on Friday claiming that the ‘betrayers’ had left the party. The TDP was cleansed by the resignation of ‘unwanted elements’ and hence the statue of N.T. Rama Rao, TDP’s founder was cleansed ‘symbolically’, Telugu Desam MLC M. Venkatasiva Reddy, district vice-president S. Subhan Basha and leaders L. Madhusudan Reddy asserted. Sincere partymen were continuing their allegiance to the TDP and they would ensure the party’s victory in the next elections, they asserted.
