Move to create an ambience of interaction

PUDUCHERRY: An opportunity to interact, a means to know one another and a platform to showcase achievements — this was the idea behind the “Know Your University” programme of the Pondicherry University, which was aimed at providing an insight into the various departments.

Launched in March, the programme had its second edition on Friday with the Department of Management Studies and Centre for Bioinformatics presenting their works and achievements. Vice-Chancellor J.A.K. Tareen said, “The programme is a means to create an ambience where we can try to learn and improve on things. This will create an ambience of interaction.”

The programme was aimed at making everyone aware of one another and familiarising oneself with the work done in other departments, thereby facilitating an interaction with faculties of humanities, social sciences, languages and sciences. It would be held twice a month with presentations from two to three departments.
