AISF leader granted bail

For a peaceful agitation: Leaders trying to pacify AlSF and AIYF activists who took out a march to the City Police Commissioner’s office on Friday in protest against the arrest of an AISF district leader.

Kozhikode: All India Students Federation (AISF) district president P. Livins who was arrested from his residence at Puthiyangadi at 12.45 a.m. on Friday was let off on bail by the Kozhikode Judicial First Class Magistrate-4 the same day.

AISF and All India Youth Federation (AIYF) workers took out a march to the City Police Commissioner’s office protesting against the arrest of Mr. Livins. The police arrested Livins as he failed to appear before the court in connection with a case relating to violence at KMCT Engineering College office in connection with the suicide of a student there last year.

Meanwhile, the City Police Commissioner directed North Assistant Commissioner of Police C.M. Pradeep Kumar to investigate into the arrest of Livins from his residence just after midnight based on a complaint by AISF leaders.
