GUNTUR: The Official Language Commission Chairman A.B.K. Prasad on Friday urged the district administration to reach the target of reaching 100 per cent in the usage of Telugu in all the official communications. The district administration presently claims that 75 per cent of all official communication was being carried out in Telugu. Addressing a meeting on ‘Telugu Vikasam’ held at the Zilla Parishad conference hall here, Mr. Prasad cited the implementation in Nellore, Nizamabad and Srikakulum districts which have won shields and Rs.10,000 for hundred per cent implementation. Mr. Prasad suggested that a beginning could be made by signing in Telugu, writing leave letters etc. An effort was successfully launched in the secretariat and now all correspondence takes place in Telugu, he said.
