KOLLAM: The growing wrangles within the Thiruvananthapuram Division unit of the Southern Railway Mazdoor Union (SRMU) have resulted in a split in the organisation. This was formally announced at a meeting of a group of SRMU members held here on Friday. The meeting was held under the banner of the Save SRMU Forum. The group that announced the split has decided to cooperate with the Divisional Railway Employees Union (DREU). Sources in the SRMU group said that the ‘cooperation’ could soon mature into a merger with the DREU. The Save SRMU Forum meeting here on Friday was under the leadership of three SRMU divisional assistant secretaries who were recently expelled from the organisation. They are M. Anil Kumar, S. Ramesh and Arasan Raj.
