Plea to tackle drought problem

SIRSI: Uttara Kannada District Congress Committee president Shantaram Hegde Shigehalli has urged the two Ministers representing Uttara Kannada district, Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri and Anand Asnotikar, to take steps to tackle drought in the district.

In a release here on Thursday, Mr. Shigehalli said prices of rice and other essential commodities were increasing.

The process of distributing ration cards had not yet been completed. Problems regarding sea erosion and loan waiver for asami loan (kate sala) should be dealt with urgently, he added.
