Rosaiah denies Naidu’s charge
HYDERABAD: Finance Minister K. Rosaiah on Friday denied the charge levelled by Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu that the State government had paid Rs. 1,000 crore so far to the corporate hospitals under the Rajiv Arogyasri comprehensive health insurance scheme.
Decrying what he called ‘a motivated campaign’, Mr. Rosaiah at a press conference here wondered how Mr. Naidu could arrive at such a conclusion when the budgetary allocation in 2007-08 was Rs. 50 crore and in 2008-09 Rs. 450 crore. Out of this, only Rs. 193 crore was paid to the government and private hospitals, he pointed out.
Frustration
Mr. Rosaiah said the manner in which Mr. Naidu levelled allegations on the health insurance scheme and objected to the presence of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi only reflected his frustration.
