Requirement of DAP for the month is 1.40 lakh tonnes 2.40 lakh tonnes complex fertilizers is the requirement HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has directed the Agriculture department to speed up supply of fertilisers to Adilabad district on a war-footing to overcome the shortage. The requirement of DAP for the month is 1.40 lakh tonnes against which the Centre has allocated 1.57 lakh tonnes. As against the requirement of 2.40 lakh tonnes of complex fertilisers for the month, Union government allocated 1.90 lakh tonnes. The Agriculture department officials assured the Chief Minister at a meeting on Friday that the required quantity of fertilizers would be rushed to Adilabad. Another six rakes of fertilizers would be rushed to Adilabad in a span of five to six weeks, a press release from the Chief Minister’s office said. Elected representatives of Adilabad district also brought to the Chief Minister’s notice problems like the shortage of drinking water, the relief and rehabilitation woes of the irrigation schemes in the district. Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, who attended the meeting, told reporters that the Chief Minister issued instructions to complete the process of rehabilitation and resettlement (RR) taken up for the displaced under the Geddanna Vagu project..
