State Land Use Board conducts study
CHENNAI: Chennai’s drinking water problem can be solved if over 3,000 tanks that exist in Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts are harnessed, according to a study commissioned by the State Land Use Board, which comes under the control of the State Planning Commission.
S. Janakarajan, professor of the Madras Institute of Development Studies, has carried out the study whose findings were discussed at a meeting held at the Planning Commission on Friday. An official release stated that the commission would go through the findings of the study and make recommendations to the government. — Special Correspondent
