Mamata Banerjee is non-committal

Special Correspondent

KOLKATA: Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has kept all guessing on whether or not she will be in New Delhi on July 22 to take part in the the trust vote in the Lok Sabha. She decried here on Friday the “horse-trading” over mustering support for the trust vote by the United Progressive Alliance government ought to seek a fresh mandate rather than “debasing Parliament”. “The horse-trading being engaged in is most condemnable to the value-based politics we stand for. As a citizen and an MP, I feel ashamed of what is going on,” Ms. Banerjee said. Ten MPs were expelled on charges of corruption without being given a chance to defend themselves but the horse-trading going on was no less a crime, she asserted.
