Moga: A middle-aged man out on bail after being convicted in a murder case and sentenced to life imprisonment has committed suicide in Nathuwala West village in Baghapurana subdivision, police said on Saturday. Sukhpal Singh, 45, had been depressed since his release ordered by the Punjab and Haryana High Court in June. He had been awarded a life sentence in 2002. Singh had attempted suicide by slashing his legs with a sharp weapon a month ago but had partially regained his ability to walk following treatment. On Friday, he left his maternal uncle’s home, where he had been living with his mother Jasbir Kaur, wife Jagdish and children, went to the cremation ground and hanged himself.
