TDP for continuing NREGS

Special Correspondent

KURNOOL: Telugu Desam District president Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy has urged the government to continue NREGS works in the district in view of drought conditions in the district.

Talking to reporters here on Saturday, he said the agriculture sector failed to generate any employment this season due to the dry spell. He said the NREGS would help both landless labourers and small and marginal farmers. He said the district administration was yet to pay Rs. 45 crore to wage seekers who completed work under the NREGS in the district
