Krishnagiri police seize 620 bags of ration rice

Krishnagiri: The Krishnagiri town police seized 620 bags of rice worth Rs.3 lakh meant for supply under the public distribution system, which was being smuggled in two lorries here on Saturday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team was conducting vehicle checks on Tiruvannamalai Road when they intercepted the lorries and seized the rice bags. The lorries were going from Villupuram to Bangarapet for sale and subsequent polishing of the rice.
